The City:

The laws being fair and its society being stable and welcoming, Dubai has been a multi-ethnic city growing rapidly. Being the commercial and leisure capital of the UAE as well as the Middle East, the city is very sparkling and protected. Being the first to introduce foreign ownership of land in the region, Dubai is the home to some of the premium leisure facilities in the world with the quality of life tremendously high.

Climate:

Dubai gets pleasure from an arid subtropical climate, with blue skies and sunshine all year round. The hottest months are between June and September, when temperatures ascend to 45 degrees and more during the day. There is very little rainfall in Dubai but the showers do fall mainly in the cooler months.

Language:

The official language is Arabic. English is widely spoken by the vast majority of people living and working in Dubai and it ranks alongside Arabic as the language of commerce. Hindi, Urdu, Tagalog, Malayalam, Farsi, Pashtu and a host of other languages are widely spoken reflecting Dubai's unusually wealthy culture.

Money:

Dubai currency is known as Arab Emirate Dirham in the global market and is denoted by AED. Locally the Dubai currency is denoted by 'Dh' and called Dirham. The Dubai currency has been maintaining a constant rate with respect to the US Dollar. US Dollars are, however, widely accepted in hotels, shops, restaurants and taxis, as are many other currencies.

Visas:

Dubai has very simple visa regulations. The requirements for a Dubai visa differ hugely between nationalities and the purpose of visit. All nationalities coming to Dubai require a visa with the exceptions of British citizens and citizens from GCC countries.

Living Costs: The overall cost of living in Dubai is similar to that in most European countries, if you’re living in the style of the average western expatriate. But the general lack of taxation has a significant impact on the cost of certain items, e.g. cars. Growth: Dubai is growing at such a fast pace that its infrastructure cannot keep up. Dubai has launched a financial plan which sets a new aim of achieving economic growth of 11% a year by 2015 and to almost double its workforce. This would triple the emirate’s GDP to £54.8 billion, through trade, transportation, tourism and financial services. And the credit for all these growth lies in Dubai being the first city in the region to form free trade zones two decades ago, and since then foreign investors have been rushing in to set up their regional operations here. Apart from trade and manufacturing, Dubai has introduced free zones for Internet, Media Cities and shortly into Medical City. Furthermore, the tourism investment has grown tremendously.

The word taxes are never heard of except in the banking industry.
